I have never seen anything like that. I don't think I would have eaten it either.
I have had that happen a couple of times. I made eggs over the holidays and broke one open that looked like it had blood in it. Totally gross, but everyone said it's fine. I still threw out the eggs and started over.
Crazy! Don't blame you for tossing it out! ;)
